Sonnet on Solitude

O Lord! in this world, lonely do I live,
my friends, my relatives abandon me.
It is because my soul to You did, I give,
And long to remain true to Thee!

A world full of hatred and pain,
makes my heart trouble-tossed and drained.
But never will I become Cain,
nor make me corrupt and stained.

O God! do not leave me in solitude,
as all my kith and kin did so.
But bless me and give me fortitude,
so that I may not, astray go.

Abide within me O Lord! that I may never,
Be alone but live with Thee forever.
